Chinook Centre Podiatry
Chinook Centre Podiatry is located in the CF Chinook Centre (shopping centre), on the third floor of the Professional Tower. Dr. Newsom has been treating patients as a podiatrist for 40 years. Throughout those years, he has been happy to help patients by using his experience and expertise.
Some of Dr. Newsom’s extensive knowledge comes from his four-year medical/surgical Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (D.P.M.) degree in San Francisco and from his three-year surgical preceptorship in Southern California. To learn more about his background, take a look at our history.
Currently, Dr. Newsom’s podiatry clinic has continued to support patients with general podiatric foot care. Depending on the conditions presented, the clinic’s care includes palliative (senior foot maintenance), orthopedic (orthotic fit and management), and minor surgical procedures.

Going for Podiatric Surgery?
While surgery sounds daunting, it doesn’t have to be. At Chinook Centre Podiatry, you’ll undergo surgery at the office while under local anaesthesia.
Not all conditions are available for surgical procedures at the clinic, so we limit procedures to several conditions and areas, including corns, warts, and in-grown nails. Many conditions, such as bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, and cysts, may better respond to conservative treatment before we need to consider surgical intervention.
As a member of the College of Podiatric Physicians of Alberta and the Canadian Podiatry Medical Association, Dr. Newsom is considered a specialist, but you don’t need to worry about getting a doctor referral for our podiatrist clinic in Calgary.
